Cabinet approves PPP project
The cabinet of PM Jan Fischer made a breakthrough decision on 24 May 2010, having approved the finishing of the construction of Prague’s Stresovice Hospital. It is the first PPP (Public Private Partnership), project in the Czech Republic that may be brought to a conclusion. PPP projects are characteristic by combined financing by the government and by money of private investors. PPP projects have been operating for many years abroad, but they have only been discussed in the Czech Republic so far, for almost 20 years. None of them has reached the completion yet. The entire project of finishing the construction of the hospital and of the operation of its part is supposed to cost approximately CZK 2.7 bln. Source: LN 17
